MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The following qualification(s) MUST be met and clearly stated on the City of Saratoga Springs employment application form: Either:
• Master's degree in Information Technology or a related field, PLUS one (1) year of full time paid experience in Network Administration or Cyber Security OR
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field, PLUS two (2) years of full time paid experience in Network Administration or Cyber Security OR
• Associate’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, PLUS three (3) years of full time paid experience in Network Administration or Cyber Security OR
• High school diploma or Equivalent, PLUS four (4) years of full time paid experience in Network Administration or Cyber Security.

DUTIES: The Information Security Analyst reports directly to the Director of Information Technology and is appointed by the Commissioner of Finance and is responsible for the planning, coordination and management of City network systems. The incumbent will be responsible for researching current network security practices and implementation of network resources. The incumbent performs related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITES (Illustrative only)
• Keep appraised of newly discovered security vulnerabilities and their effects on protected resources;
• Suggest changes to security policy as needed by existing threat environment;
• Manage implementation of new features of security tools in use;
• Implement an internal and external vulnerability scanning process;
• Be on call for security incident handling;
• Recommend new products and services to improve security stance during budget process;
• Research network incidents to determine implications and appropriate response;
• Work with vendors to develop test procedures for implemented features;
• Coordinate penetration tests and or red team exercises per security policies;
• Assist with development and maintenance of security policies and procedures;
